The petitioner submitted an application for compassionate appointment in March 2012. The application was necessitated on account of the death of his father on 9.12.2010. The father of the petitioner by name Thiru K.Rathinam was a driver of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation and he died in harness. The petitioner is a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
B.E.Mechanical Engineer. The petitioner wanted the respondent to consider his case for compassionate appointment. Since follow up action was not taken by the respondent pursuant to the application for compassionate appointment, the petitioner is before this Court.
2. The respondent filed a counter affidavit wherein it was indicated that they are maintaining a seniority list in respect of applications for compassionate appointment. According to the respondent, the petitioner is at Serial No.511 in the waiting list and his case would be considered depending upon the maturity of his application.
3. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment, taking into account the indigent circumstances of the family. The respondent should also ascertain the feasibility of increasing the quota earmarked for compassionate appointments, in view of the waiting list.
4. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. The connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
