Heard Mr.G.Ravisankar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.V.Babu, learned counsel appearing for the respondents. With the consent of either side the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage. 2.The petitioner seeks for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to allot one tenement either in the Tsunami affected or any other schemes to th petitioner and pass further orders.
3. According to the petitioner, she is a poor slum dweller and has been residing in a temporary hut in Chennai and the same was destroyed due to Tsunami in the year 2004. Thereafter, the petitioner has received Tsunami Relief Fund in the month of February, March, April 2005 and subsequently, she had put up a small hut and the same was destroyed in the fire, due to which the petitioner has lost the shelter. At that time, the respondentboard enumerated the slum dwellers for the purpose of accommodating in the Kannagi Nagar Scheme and the respondent-board removed all the slum dwellers including the petitioner.
4. The petitioner's grievance is that though the respondentBoard had allotted tenement in the Kannagi Nagar Scheme, omitted to allot the tenement to the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation on 11.08.2014 requesting to allot tenement to the petitioner in any one of the scheme of the respondent-board.
5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondent-Board to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.08.2009 and pass a speaking order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
