ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents in particular third respondent to restore the electricity service connection - domestic vide 201.001.918 situated at No.289/312, Malligaipoo Nagar, Adyar, Chennai - 600 020 based on petitioner's representation dated on 25.02.2023.
2. Mr.L.Jai Venkatesh, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel appearing on either side, this petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, his domestic electricity connection vide No.201.001.918 was disconnected for non-payment of Page No.2 of 6
consumption charges. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the respondents 2 and 3 seeking restoration of the electricity service connection by way a representation dated 25.02.2023. Since the same was not considered by them, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition before this Court for appropriate directions.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner is ready to pay the entires dues payable by him. Hence, he submits that, it would suffice, if this Court, issues a direction to the respondents to restore the petitioner's electricity service connection - domestic vide 201.001.918 by considering his representation dated 25.02.2023, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that, unless the petitioner clear the dues payable by him, his representation will not be considered by the respondents. Even, if the petitioner clear the dues, his representation will be considered for new electricity service connection. Hence, this Court may direct the petitioner to pay the entire arrears and make a fresh application for new electricity Page No.3 of 6
service connection along with necessary documents, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to pay the entire arrears amount payable by him and after payment, he is directed to make a fresh application before the respondents for new electricity service connection along with necessary documents within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If such an application is filed, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks thereafter.
7. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
