Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to survey and remove the encroachment made in the 'Vellavaari Odai' situated in Government Poromboke Land in Survey Nos.172/6A & 6B, Nos.173/1 & 2 and Nos.171/1A & 172/3A situated in the one kilometer distance from the road from Thayanur to Avalurpettai in Thayanur Village, Melmalaiyanur Taluk, Villupuram District and to bring the land to its original form by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.07.2024.

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the official respondents. Issuance of notice to R5 to R8 is dispensed with.
2. The petitioner alleges that the private respondents have Page No.: 2 of 4
encroached upon the water body. The petitioner has given a representation on 03.07.2024. The second respondent is the competent authority to take action. The second respondent is directed to issue notice to all concerned persons and conduct a survey. If the second respondent notices any encroachments, the same shall be removed by adhering to due process of law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
