The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 25.05.2024 in Crime No.6 of 2024 registered for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 417 and 376 IPC, seeks bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case, as if he promised the victim girl that he would marry and subsequently, refused. He further submitted that he is no way connected with the alleged offence. He is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that under the promise of marriage, the petitioner had sexual relationship with the victim girl and subsequently, refused to marry her. Further, as per the statement recorded under Section 164 Cr.P.C, the petitioner threatened the victim girl through some advocates to withdraw the complaint. He further submitted that the investigation is not yet completed, therefore, he vehemently opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent and perused the entire materials available on record.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) and also considering the fact that the petitioner threatened the victim, if the petitioner is released on bail, he may threaten the witnesses, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
