According to me, the petitioner has sought permission for keeping gun in his possession to safeguard his life, and for that purpose, he has to approach the District Collector. It is admitted that the petitioner was also provided with Police without any arm, and therefore, I am of the view that there is no need to provide Police with gun. In case, the petitioner feels that she needs a Police with gun, it is open to him to apply to the District Collector, for obtaining license to keep gun. 5.
With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
