Common Prayer:-Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records on the file of the respondent in Letter No.A2/005652/2014, dated 20.12.2014, and quash the same and direct the respondent to publish the results of selection examination for appointment to the Post of Assistant Engineer, pursuant to the notification dated 05.09.2012 and 27.12.2012 and certificate verification held on 27.06.2013 and 28.06.2013 and consequently select and appoint the petitioners' as Assistant Engineers (Civil) in the respondent corporation if the petitioners' names find place in the list of selected candidates. 2. The petitioners have filed these Writ Petitions for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to quash the order passed by the respondent in Letter No.A2/005652/2014, dated 20.12.2014, and to direct the respondent to publish the results of
selection examination for appointment to the Post of Assistant Engineer, pursuant to the notification dated 05.09.2012 and 27.12.2012 and certificate verification held on 27.06.2013 and 28.06.2013 and consequently select and appoint the petitioners' as Assistant Engineers (Civil) in the respondent corporation if the petitioners' names find place in the list of selected candidates.
3. The objection raised by the respondent in the impugned communication is that they are waiting for the concurrence of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and after obtaining concurrence, the results will be published.

The counter affidavit has been filed by the respondent would show that they had virtually considered the prayer sought for by the petitioners, since the concurrence of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has been obtained. For better appreciation, the relevant paragraphs of the counter affidavit are extracted hereunder:-
6. I humbly submit that the competitive examination was conducted on 30.03.2013, and totally 850 candidates in the examination. The examination consisted of two papers. Elective (Civil) and English. Out of the 850 candidates 33 candidates were short-listed for Interview and Interview was held on three days on 26.06.2013, 27.06.2013 and 28.06.2013 and the final select list consisting of 13 selected candidates are to be published.

While things stood thus, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducted a competitive examination for the recruitment of Assistant Engineers to be appointed in various departments in the State of Tamil Nadu and the said exam was conducted on 02.03.2013. The results were published by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission on 30.01.2014 and then TAHDCO sent a letter to Tamil Nadu Service Commission with a request to furnish the particulars of candidates selected by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission from and out of the 33 candidates selected for Interview. The reason is that some of the selected candidates by the corporation if got selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission they ought to go to other services in the State of Tamil Nadu and that was the reason as to why the publication of results were postponed.
9. I humbly submit that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in its letter dated 05.03.2015 has communicated the particulars sought for by the Corporation.
Immediately after receipt of said particulars, TAHDCO is taking steps to finalize the selection in accordance with law.
5. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent on instruction submitted that within a period of two weeks, the results of the final selected list of candidates will be published and hence, the Writ Petitions may be disposed of.

In the light of the above stand taken in the counter affidavit and in view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondent, these Writ Petitions are disposed of, by directing the respondent to publish the results of the final selected list of candidates, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
