O R D E R

Heard Mr.M.R.Jothimanian, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Government advocate appearing for the respondents. With the consent of either side, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2.The Petitioner seeks for a issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant police protection and permission to celebrate Kuladeivam festival of Arulmighu Annammar Temple to be held on 9.03.2015 and 10.03.2015 at Kottavarudhampatti and Sungudi Varuthampatty Village, Sangagiri Taluk, Salem District by considering petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2015.

3.According to the petitioner, they seek to conduct Kulatheivam festival, as done by the petitioner with their group of persons during the previous year.

4. The learned Government Advocate on instructions submitted that the dispute has been raised by the poojari for the festival which sought to be conducted by the petitioner and their group of people excluding the poojaris and therefore the 1st respondent has convened peace committee meeting on 04.03.2015.

5. The petitioner and their group are ready and willing to appear before the 1st respondent and to participate in the peace committee meeting and requested permission to celebrate festival as was done by them during the previous year.

6. In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to convene the peace committee meeting, hear all the parties concerned and workout a solution so that the temple festival could be celebrated in a peaceful and solemn manner.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
