O R D E R

The petitioner herein is a farmer who has sought electricity connection under self finance scheme and initially paid Rs.500/- as fee on 15.12.2005. Subsequently, the communication has been sent by the Assistant Engineer to the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.25,000/- to process his application. petitioner has not pursued the request for service connection and therefore till date he has not been provided with electricity connection. Hence, the petitioner approached this Court seeking of Writ of Mandamus.

2. After notice, the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the request of the petitioner can be considered under the self finance scheme provided that he pay the necessary estimation charge.

3. In the said circumstances, the petitioner is directed to pay the estimated charge for getting electricity service. On receipt of such payment, the 3rd respondent shall give service connection to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
