..Respondent(s) Prayer: This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents herein to

ORDER

The writ petition is filed for the below relief: "directing the respondents herein to pay interest for the delayed payments made to the petitioners in respect of Gratuity, Commutation, Provident Fund and Earned Leave etc.".

2. The brief facts which are culminated in the filing of this writ petition are set out below:

2.1. It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioners were working under the first respondent Corporation and were retired from service after completing their age of superannuation. The respondents settled Gratuity, Commutation, Provident Fund and Earned Leave with a delay. Therefore, the respondents are legally bound to pay interest to the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners made representations to the first respondent for early settlement of retirement benefits. Since there is no response, the petitioners are before this

Court.

3. Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on records.

4. Admittedly, the Gratuity, Commutation, Provident Fund and Earned Leave has been paid belatedly for no fault of the petitioners. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to interest on the same. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to disburse 6% interest for belated payment of Gratuity, Commutation, Provident Fund and Earned Leave to the petitioners within a period of one (1) month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition in W.M.P.No.22580 of 2026 is ordered as prayed for. No costs. 15-06-2026 Index: Yes/No rap
