Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide sufficient police protection to the petitioner herein and petitioner family members for their life and the property existing in SF.No.5/3, Thevanampalayam village, paramathi velur Taluk, Namakkal District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 12.06.2024. This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide sufficient police protection to the petitioner herein and petitioner family members for their life and the property existing in SF.No.5/3, Thevanampalayam village, Paramathi Velur Taluk, Namakkal District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 12.06.2024.
2. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, the enquiry has been conducted in CSR No.114 of 2024 and the same has been closed.
4. It is seen that there is a dispute between the petitioner and the third respondent. That apart, the Police Protection can be granted only to the life and limb of a person. Therefore, the Police protection cannot be granted for property. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the civil Court for appropriate relief.
5. In view of the above, the direction sought for in this petition cannot be considered. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
