PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to issue the community certificate of Hindu Adi Dravidar (Scheduled Caste) under the Constitution (Pondicherry) Scheduled Castes Order, 1964 as origin of the Puducherry to the petitioner's sons namely (1) A.Balachandran and (2) A.Baranichandar on her 1/4

representation dated 25.9.2024 and no written order was passed on the enquiry conducted on 19.11.2024.

Mr.R.Meiyappan, GA (Puducherry) Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN,J The petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste (Hindu Adi Dravidar) community. She hails from Puducherry. She, however, got married to one Mr.P.Ashokan, who also belongs to the very same community, but hails from Tamil Nadu. The petitioner seeks a community certificate for her children.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though she appeared before the second respondent on 19.11.2024 and produced all the relevant records, till date, her application for issuance of the community certificate for her children has not yet been disposed of and it is still kept pending. Hence, the above writ petition has been filed.

3. We put the learned Government Advocate (Puducherry) on 2/4

notice. Heard both.

4. Considering the facts, the second respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 25.9.2024 within a period of two weeks from today.
