This Writ Petition has been filed praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamusto direct the respondent to consider the representation dated 22.04.2024 and pass appropriate orders under Section 120 of the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies Act, 1998.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that the internal roads laid within the petitioner's association were gifted to the Greater Chennai Corporation, the same was sought to be treated as public roads and some persons who had lands behind the petitioner's villa sought to utilize the roads within the complex to reach their properties, though they had alternative routes available to them. In this regard, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent on 22.04.2024. However, the same has not been considered. Hence, he seeks a direction. 2/4
4. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the respondent in a reasonable time.
5. Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.04.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
