ORDER

Heard Ms.R.Anitha, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Government Advocate accepting notice on behalf of the respondent and with their consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal.

2. The petitioners seek for disposal of the statutory appeal presented by them before the respondent on 04.12.2013.

3. The above appeal has been filed challenging the order passed by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tambaram, dated 09.10.2013. The appeal petition has been sent by registered post and it is said to have been acknowledged by the office of the respondent on 07.12.2013.

4. The learned Government Advocate submitted that a reasonable time may be granted to the appellate authority to consider and dispose of the said appeal.

5. In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioners appeal petition dated 04.12.2013 on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioners and affording an opportunity of personal hearing to them and a reasoned order shall be passed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
