ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to pay the earned leave salary for 63 days amounting to Rs.2,75,751/- to the petitioner, together with interest, by considering his representation..

The petitioner, who was working as Headmaster of Panchayat Union Elementary School, Kuval Kuttai, Alangayam Block, Tirupattur District, retired from service on 29.02.2024 and his service was extended upto 31.05.2024. After his retirement, he found that there was serious mistakes and discrepancies in the calculation of Earned Leave encashment. At the time of his retirement, he had 241 days of earned leave, out of which he was entitled to encash up to 240 days under\ Tamil Nadu Leave Rules. However, the respondents disbursed encashment only for 177 days. Despite repeated requests and representations submitted by the petitioner, the respondents failed to rectify the discrepancy. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on both sides and perused the materials available on records.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall submit a statement of account and all the relevant documents, if any, at the time of personal hearing.

With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
