Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of writ or direction, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner representation dated 03.07.2017 and consequently pass appropriate order for revising the proceeding No.63811/2015/EE4 dated 05.01.2017 of the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj the petitioner date of joining as a junior Engineer wrongly mentioned as 01.06.2007 instead of 01.07.2004. With the consent of both the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2. The petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking direction to direct the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the petitioner representation dated 03.07.2017 and consequently pass appropriate order for revising the proceeding No.63811/2015/EE4
dated 05.01.2017 of the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj the petitioner date of joining as a junior Engineer wrongly mentioned as 01.06.2007 instead of 01.07.2004.
3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner joined the service in the year 1971 as a Overseer in the Highways and Rural Work Department. Further the petitioner was promoted as a Junior Engineer in the year 2004 in the Director of Rural Development Department, Panagal Building, Chennai. Further, the petitioner retired from service on 31.03.2012. Thereafter the department of Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj has prepared the panel of seniority list including the petitioner name and issued the provisional seniority list vide proceedings dated 05.01.2017. In the Provisional Seniority List of Junior Engineer promoted from the overseers in annexure list is mentioned in the date of joining as a Junior on 01.06.2007 but as per the promotion list the petitioner was promoted as a Junior Engineer on 01.07.
2004 but wrongly, mistakenly the second respondent as mentioned in the provisional seniority list instead of 01.07.2004 and wrongly mentioned on 01.06.2007. Thereafter the petitioner made a representation dated 03.07.2017 as against the inaction, the present Writ Petition is filed.

Considering the above facts and circumstances and the limited request made by the petitioner, the petitioner entered into service in the year 1971 and retired from service in the year 2012, after a lapse of 5 years he made representation as if his date of joining was wrongly mentioned which cannot be entertained. Hence I am not inclined to entertain the Writ Petition. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
