[Crime No.122/2026] ..Respondent(s) Prayer: Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is filed under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023, praying to modify the condition imposed in paragraph No.8(c) of the order dated 17.04.2026 passed in Crl.O.P.No.9569 of 2026, by directing the petitioners to report before the respondent police, viz., Mecheri Police Station, or before the Jurisdictional Judicial Magistrate, instead of reporting at 10.30 a.m. before Kottar Police Station, Nagercoil for a period of two weeks. ORDER

This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed praying to modify the condition imposed in paragraph No.8(c) of the order dated 17.04.2026 passed in Crl.O.P.No.9569 of 2026, by directing the petitioners to report before the respondent police, viz., Mecheri Police Station, or before the Jurisdictional Judicial Magistrate, instead of reporting at 10.30 a.m. before Kottar Police Station, Nagercoil for a period of two weeks.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the Prosecution. He would further submit that the petitioners are the permanent residents of Salem District and they find difficult to Stay at Nagercoil and to appear before the Kattar Police Station as per the order passed by this Court while granting anticipatory bail to the petitioners and therefore, he requested to modify the said condition and also requested to grant time to execute bond before the Court concerned

3. There is no objection on the side of the respondent police.

4. Heard both sides. Considering the above said submissions and the nature of offences, this Court is inclined to modify the condition that "the

petitioners shall stay at Nagercoil and report before the Kattar Police Station, daily at 10.30 a.m. for a period of two weeks and thereafter as and when required for interrogation" to the effect that "the petitioners shall execute a bond along with two sureties before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.2, Mettur, Salem District on or before 25.05.2026 and the petitioners shall appear before the said Court daily at 10.30 a.m. for a period of two weeks and thereafter as and when required by the respondent police for interrogation".

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered. 06-05-2026 MJS / VEDA Note:
