Heard Mr.K.R.Gunashekar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Govt. Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondent.

2. With the consent of either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The petitioner seek for a direction upon the respondent to consider his representation dated 24.06.2013 for issue of patta to his plot in Door No.5/3, Ashokan Street, Kamarajar Nagar, Nagalkeni, Chennai - 600 044, in Pammal Municipality with the total extent of 2700 sq.ft.

4. The petitioner purchased the property through a sale deed registered as document No.1296/1972, on the file of the Sub Registrar, Pallavaram, on 15.07.1972, and since then for the past 42 years he is in possession and enjoyment of the property. He https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

constructed a house in the land. The petitioner submitted an application dated 24.06.2013 seeking patta, which was acknowledged by the respondent. Since neither any order has been passed nor any inspection conducted till date, the petitioner is before this Court with this petition.

5. In the light of the above facts, without going into the merits of the petitioner's contentions, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.06.2013 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and giving him an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
