Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 first to fill up the shortfall vacancies under Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Grade-I quota as per the ratio of 2:2 between Assistant Engineers (Mechanical) and Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Grade -I, by promoting the 62 Junior Engineers (Mech) Grade-II including the petitioners, as per the Suitability Report already received in May, 2014 and also by promoting the other eligible Junior Engineer (Mechanical) GradeII and thereafter, to fill up the existing vacancies if any and the future vacancies, by strictly following the ratio of 2:2 between Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) and Junior Engineer
(Mechanical) and by making appointments to both categories simultaneously and at the same time, award costs. For Petitioners :

This Writ Petitions have been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 first to fill up the shortfall vacancies under Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Grade-I quota as per the ratio of 2:2 between Assistant Engineers (Mechanical) and Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Grade -I, by promoting the 62 Junior Engineers (Mechanical) Grade-II including the petitioners as per the Suitability Report already received in May, 2014 and also by promoting the other eligible Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Grade-II and thereafter, to fill up the existing vacancies if any and the future vacancies, by strictly following the ratio of 2:2 between Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) and Junior Engineer (Mechanical) and by making appointments to both categories simultaneously. 2.
When the matter is called, the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners by producing a Memo dated 24.8.2016 issued by the 3rd respondent, namely, the Chief Engineer (Personnel), Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited, Anna Salai, Chennai-2 submitted that both the petitioners were given promotion as Junior Engineer/Mechanical Grade I. Therefore, nothing survives in these Writ Petitions.

Recording the same, the Writ Petitions are closed as infructuous. No costs.
