Petition filed under section 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta/ assignment for the property comprised in S.No.97/1, situated at Kongarapalayam Village, Kallakuruchi Taluk, Villupuram District, measuring an extent of 7.98 Acres in favour of the petitioner's in view of the continuous possession and enjoyment of the property. Heard Mr.S.Sivakumar, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. With the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.Petitioners seeks for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue patta/ assignment for the property comprised in S.No.97/1, situated at Kongarapalayam Village, Kallakuruchi Taluk, Villupuram District, measuring an extent of 7.98 Acres in favour of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioners in view of the continuous possession and enjoyment of the property.

3.Admittedly, the land in question is Government poromboke land. Hence, there cannot be any positive direction to the respondents to grant patta to the petitioners. Petitioners claim to be in possession of the property since 1994 and produced certain kist receipts to show that he is residing in property. 4.In the light of the above, while declining to grant the relief sought for by the petitioners, liberty is granted to the petitioners to pursue their representation before the first respondent which shall be considered in accordance with law.

5.This writ petition is dismissed with the above observation. No costs.
