Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of MANDAMUS directing the respondents herein to consider the degree in English conferred by the Vinayaka Mission University (formerly known as Vinayaka Mission and Research Foundation) Salem a deemed University as valid in consonance with the G.O.Ms. No.39 Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department dated 30.4.2014 and consequently direct the respondents to include the name of the petitioner in the panel for promotion to the post of B.T.Assistant (English) (Mathematics), (Science) (Science), (Science) (Tamil) Respectively as on 1.1.2015

and consequently promote the petitioner to the post of B.T.Assistant (English) (Mathematics), (Science) (Science), (Science) (Tamil) forthwith.

The next avenue of promotion is to the post of B.T. Assistant. The case of the petitioners was not considered for promotion on the ground that they have obtained the degree from a deemed University. According to the petitioners, their cases are covered by the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.39, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, dated 30.04.2014. The petitioners submitted individual representations to the second respondent on 16.02.2015 and 17.02.2015. The present request is to direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the said representations.

2. The second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners dated 16.02.2015 (W.P.Nos.6089 to 6092 and 6094 of 2015) and dated 17.02.2015 (W.P.No.6093/2015), on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. The petitioners are directed to forward a copy of the representations along with a copy of this order so as to enable the second respondent to dispose of the matter within the aforesaid period.

4. The Writ Petitions are disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
