..Respondent(s) Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents 1 to 7 to ensure that the Chariot/ Statue/ Karagam festival procession of the Arulmigu Ponniyamman Temple is halted for a duration of at least two hours from 18.05.2026 to 21.05.2026 at a single designated location near the Singaravelan Temple in Kollaimedu so as to enable the petitioner's villagers consisting of more than 350 families residing at Anpoondi Kollaimedu, Airport, Kakkamampatti, P.W.D. Kandasamy Nagar, Kalvaikarai, Munia Gounder Street, V.M Street, Ambedkar Colony and Mariyamman Temple street to offer their prayers and workship. For Petitioner(s):

ORDER
The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 to 7 to ensure that the Chariot/ Statue/ Karagam festival procession of Arulmigu Ponniyamman Temple is halted for a duration of two hours from 18.05.2026 to 21.05.2026 at a designated location near Singaravelan Temple in Kollaimedu to enable the petitioner's villagers to have a glimpse of a deity.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that there is a temple called Arulmigu Ponniyamman Temple in Anpoondi village and the same is under the control of 3rd respondent and the villagers. Every year, during the month of May, there will be a temple festival and the deity of the temple will be taken in procession. The petitioner submitted a representation on 27.04.2026 before the official respondents requesting them to halt the chariot of the deity near Kollaimedu Singaravelan Temple to enable the residents of the Anpoondi village, Kollaimedu, Airport, Kakkamampatti, P.W.D. Kandasamy Nagar, Kalvaikarai, Munia Gounder Street, V.M.Street, Ambedkar Colony and Mariyamman Temple Street to have a glimpse of the deity. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, he has come before this Court with the above mentioned prayer.
3. Mr.N.R.R.Arun Natarajan, learned Special Government Pleader (HR & CE) takes notice for the respondents 3, 4 and 7. Mr.L.S.M.Hassan Faizal, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1, 5 and 6. Mr.S.Santhosh, learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) takes notice for the 2nd respondent.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader (HR & CE) for the respondents 3, 4 and 7 submitted that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered by the 3rd respondent in accordance with the law.
5. Taking into consideration that the temple festival falls on 18.05.2026, this Court is inclined to direct the 3rd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.04.2026 and pass final orders on its' own merits on or before 14.05.2026 after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, 7th respondent and other interested parties.
