ORDER

Heard Mr.N.Ponraj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. With the consent of either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. The petitioner seeks for direction upon the respondent to grant permission to conduct cultural dance programme on the eve of the temple festival.

3. In my view, no positive direction could be issued to the respondent police to grant permission to conduct such a programme, since it is the respondent police, who are authorised to maintain law and order in the locality. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition cannot be granted. While declining the relief sought for in this Writ Petition, liberty is granted to the petitioner to pursue his representation before the respondent, which shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. In the result, this Writ Petition is dismissed with observations. No costs.
