Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondent herein for willful disobedience and non compliance of order dated 23.01.2019 of this Court made in Crl.O.P.No.1660 of 2019 for the contempt of court non conduct the enquiry with regard to adding of offence and accused persons in the pending FIR before the respondent.

ORDER

The petitioner has filed this contempt petition to punish the respondent herein for willful disobedience and non compliance of order dated 23.01.2019 of this Court made

in Crl.O.P.No.1660 of 2019 for the contempt of court by not conducting the enquiry with regard to adding of offence and accused persons, in the pending FIR before the respondent.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the investigation has been completed and final report has been filed before the 15th Metropolitan Magistrate, George Town Court, Chennai and the same has been taken on file in C.C.No.1157 of 2019.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the respondent police have conducted the investigation in a hasty manner without taking into consideration the materials that were handed over by the petitioner to the respondent police.

4. This Court exercises a very limited jurisdiction while dealing with a contempt petition and cannot go into this issue. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the manner in which the investigation has been conducted, it is for the petitioner to seek for an appropriate remedy by filing a separate petition and the same cannot be agitated in this contempt petition.

5. In view of the above, this Contempt Petition is closed.
