Arokkiyasami, aged about 30 years, bearing Convict No. 10537 confined at Central Prison - I, Puzhal.

(Made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.

The petitioner's son - Jayaraj, S/o. Arokkiyasami, aged about 30 years, bearing Convict No. 10537 is undergoing life sentence in the second respondent prison. The petitioner is said to be diabetic, his surgery is proposed to be held on 19.05.2025. The petitioner wants his son to be with him. Since the petitioner made a request of 15 days emergency leave at one go, his request was rejected.

The first respondent is agreeable to grant six days emergency leave. Taking into account the stand of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, we direct the first respondent to grant six days emergency leave for the petitioner's son. 4.

The petitioner's son - Jayaraj, S/o. Arokkiyasami, aged about 30 years, bearing Convict No. 10537 shall be released from prison at 10.00 a.m. on 17.05.2025 without escort and he shall 2/4

surrender before the prison authorities on 24.05.2025 at 5.00 pm. During the aforesaid period, the petitioner shall report before the Inspector of Police, K6 T.P.Chatram Police Station, Chennai, daily at 5.00 p.m.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
