Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to alter the petitioner's original date of birth in the 10th and +2 mark sheets and transfer certificate as 24.02.1986 instead of 03.06.1985 and to consequently direct the respondents to issue fresh mark sheets and transfer certificate to the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.02.2015 and 25.02.2015.

ORDER
Heard Mr.P.G.Santhosh Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.L.Mahendran, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner seeks for a direction upon the respondents to alter the petitioner's original date of birth in the 10th and +2 mark sheets and transfer certificate as 24.02.1986 instead of 03.06.1985 and to consequently direct the respondents to issue fresh mark sheets and transfer certificate to the petitioner on the basis of the petitioner's representations dated 21.02.2015 and 25.02.2015.
3. According to the petitioner, she was unaware about her exact date of birth since she did not have a birth certificate though her birth was registered. After her father's death, when the petitioner applied for a birth certificate, in order to apply for an employment, she came to know that her date of birth was 24.02.1986 and the same was registered with the District Registrar, Mayiladuthurai on 03.03.1986. However, when the petitioner was admitted to the school, her Date of Birth was wrongly mentioned as 03.06.1985 instead of 24.02.1986. Hence, the petitioner has approached the authorities by way of representations dated 21.02.2015 and 24.02.2015 to alter the date of birth in her X standard and +2 Mark sheets and in the Transfer Certificate issued and the same is pending consideration.

In the light of the above facts, there will be a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and forward the same with appropriate recommendations to the third respondent, who in turn, shall consider and forward the recommendations to the competent authority within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereafter, the competent authority shall consider the recommendations of the Head Master of the fourth respondent school and pass appropriate orders so as to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in the X standard and XII standard certificates mark statements and also in the transfer certificate, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the recommendations from the fourth respondent.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
