ORDER

The petitioner seeks for a direction to the second respondent to sanction educational loan of Rs.3,90,000/- to enable her to pursue higher studies.

The petitioner's father is running a hair cutting saloon in the name of Viswanath Hair Styles in Kooteripattu and he hails from a poor uneducated family. According to the petitioner, with the small earnings from the shop, his father has provided her education upto the higher secondary level. The petitioner's younger sister is now studying 10th standard. It is stated that the petitioner applied for paramedical course for the academic year 2014-2015 through the Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai and she was selected to pursue B.Sc., Nursing course for the academic year 20142015 in Annai Velankanni Nursing College, Kancheepuram. petitioner's father could not pay the fee for the course and he is having only a meager income, the petitioner applied for grant of educational loan with the second respondent bank. It is stated by the petitioner that along with the loan application, she enclosed all the requisite testimonials and one surety from a government servant as a condition precedent for grant of educational loan. Inspite of the same, the loan amount sought for by the petitioner has not been sanctioned, hence, she has filed this writ petition. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents bank would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner will be considered by the respondents in accordance with the guidelines issued by IBI. It is also submitted that certain other details are required to be submitted by the petitioner, which the second respondent bank will collect from the petitioner and thereafter process the application submitted by her.

Having regard to the avocation of the petitioner's father that he is running a hair cutting saloon and the fact that the petitioner had submitted all the requisite testimonials along with the application for educational loan together with a government servant surety, the respondents are directed to consider the loan application of the petitioner by taking into consideration her economical back ground and that of her father and pass appropriate orders thereon as expeditiously as possible, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
