Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of MANDAMUS or any other appropriate Writ, order or direction in the nature of writ to direct the respondents to grant house site patta in favour of the petitioners in respect of the land in S.No.52/1A, 52/2, 52/3, 52/4, 52/7, 52/12C, 52/1B, Manjaputhur Village, Sankapuram Taluk, Villupuram District classified

as Adi Dravidar Colony, Natham in the Revenue records, within a time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

ORDER

Heard Mr.G.Sankaran, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mrs.P.Rajalakshmi, Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioners seek for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to grant house site patta in favour of the petitioners in respect of the lands in question, which are classified as Adi Dravidar Colony, Natham in the Revenue records 3.The petitioners would state that they are entitled for being considered for grant of patta as they belong to the Adi Dravidar Community. It is further stated that about 33 persons have been granted house site patta and for the remaining persons, though there is sufficient land, patta has not been granted. Therefore, the petitioners are before this Court seeking the aforesaid prayer. 4.It is seen that the petitioners have approached this Court without making any representation to the authorities concerned.

In the light of the above, the writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioners to submit a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with a copy of this order, clearly setting out all the facts as to how they are entitled to be considered as beneficiaries for free house site patta. On receipt of such representation, the 2nd respondent shall consider the same after inviting appropriate reports from the respondents 3 and 4, on merits and in accordance with law. The above said exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of such representation from the representation.

5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
