O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. None appears on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Generation and Distribution Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "TANGEDCO").

2. The petitioner is an employee of TANGEDCO. The TANGEDCO initiated disciplinary proceedings against him and the same resulted in imposing the punishment on 7.5.2009. The petitioner challenged the said punishment before the first respondent by way of statutory appeal. The appeal was filed as early as on 02.07.2009. It is the grievance of the petitioner that effective action was not taken by the first respondent. The petitioner is therefore before this court.

3. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the statutory appeal filed by the petitioner on 02.07.2009, challenging the order dated 7.5.2009, on merits and as per law. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
