This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 15.06.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.455 of 2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa) read with 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is no way connected with the alleged offence. He also submitted that the petitioner is in custody from 15.06.2024 and he is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for bail.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner/accused was found to be in illegal possession of 110 litres of illicit arrack in a mud pot. He also submitted that six previous cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner. 4. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the investigation is still pending and also considering the antecedents of the petitioner/accused, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
