O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 09.06.2018 pending on the file of the 2nd respondent in accordance with law wherein he has made a request for providing electricity service connection to his residential house.
2.The petitioner claims to be the owner of the property comprised in S.No.5/2 measuring an extent of 2409 sq.ft., Permabalur Taluk, Kancheepuram District. Subsequent to the purchase of the property by the petitioner's mother on 15.06.1967, a house was put up in the said vacant property. The petitioner's mother had executed a Settlement Deed in favour of the petitioner on 27.12.2016. All the revenue records have been transferred in the name of the petitioner. Now, the house is in a damaged condition and remains unused. When the petitioner made a representation on 09.06.2018 to the 2nd respondent for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
providing of electricity service connection, the same was refused. Hence, the petitioner has sent his representation through registered post and till date no action has been taken. 3.At this stage, the learned standing counsel for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has to obtain the application from the office of the 2nd respondent and submit the same in the prescribed format. But till date, the petitioner has not done so. If the petitioner submits the application in the prescribed format, the same will be considered by the 2nd respondent.
4.Recording the submission made by the learned standing counsel for the respondents, the petitioner is directed to get the application in the prescribed format from the office of the 2nd respondent and thereafter, submit the same. On receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent shall consider the application of the petitioner and do the needful.
5.With these directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
