O R D E R

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the first respondent to issue FL2 License under Tamil Nadu Liquor ( Licence & Permit ) Rules 1981 to the petitioner in a time bound manner.

2. The learned Senior counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner made a submission that the writ petitioner had submitted an application seeking licence before the authorities https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

on 20.02.2017. The application sent by the writ petitioner was acknowledged and the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, Chennai passed an order to the District Collector, Thiruvarur District to file a report in this regard. However, no further action has been taken in this regard and the writ petitioner has already waited for more than one year after submission of the application. Thus, the petitioner is constrained to move the present writ petition for a direction.

3. Under these circumstances and without going into merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the application submitted by the writ petitioner on 20.02.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

4. Accordingly, the writ petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of the application and other relevant documents along with the order passed in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
