ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking modification of the condition imposed by the learned Principal Sessions Judge at Chennai in Crl.MP.No.3241 of 2025 dated 17.04.2026, that the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- before the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate at Chennai.

2. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a single mother with two children and her husband is also in judicial custody. Hence, she finds difficult to mobilise the amount of Rs.5,00,000/-.

3. Considering the above submission and the nature of the offence, this Court is inclined to modify the condition imposed in Para 5(b) of the order dated 17.04.2026 in Crl.MP.No.3241 of 2025. Accordingly, the condition that "the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) before the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Chennai to the credit of Crime No.71/2026" is modified to the effect that "the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) before the learned II Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Chennai to the credit of Crime No.71/2026". The other conditions imposed earlier shall remain unaltered.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is ordered. 06-05-2026 MJS / VEDA Note:
