The complainant in S.T.C.No.2 of 2022 is before this Court for issuance of direction to the Presiding Officer to complete the trial within the time frame.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that till date the prosecution has not marshalled their witnesses and the trial Court also lenient in not securing the accused person, who frequently absent from attending the Court.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police states that the matters stands adjourned to 26.07.2024 and fresh summon has been issued to LW.1 to LW.3. He further states that the prosecution relies upon 8 witnesses to prove the charge and the next hearing date the witnesses will be produced for commencement of trial.

Recording the said undertaking, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the trial Court to the conduct the trial as expeditiously as possible. The respondent police herein shall marshal their witnesses on the dates of hearing and cooperate with the disposal of the case. The trial shall be completed preferrably within a period of four months.
