PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for the records of the impugned detention order Rc.No.333/2025/M6-D.No.12/2025, passed by the 2nd respondent dated 11.04.2025 and quash the same a illegal, arbitrary and non-est in law and produce the petitioner's son one Jakeerusen, aged about 25 years, now detained in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai, under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Sexual Offenders, Slum grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 read with order issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O.(D)No.20, Home, Prohibition and Excise Department, dated 09.01.2025 under Section 3(2) of the aforesaid act, before this Court and set him at liberty. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, by producing a copy of the Government Order in G.O.Rt.No.2832, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 19.05.2025, submitted that the detention order has already been revoked.
2. Recording the said submission, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
