..Respondent(s) (R7 is suo-motu impleaded vide order of this Court dated 07.05.2026 in W.P.No.1125/2026) Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance to direct the 2nd respondent to provide police protection for conducting the yearly temple festival of Arulmigu Marukkalampatti Mariamman Koil at Marukkalampatti Village, Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District which is scheduled to be held on 14.05.2026 in a peaceful manner, as has been traditionally conducted in the previous year on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dt. 1.5.2026 and pass such further or other orders as this Honble Court.

ORDER

Seeking direction to the second respondent to provide police protection for conducting the yearly temple festival of Arulmigu Marukkalampatti Mariamman Koil at Marukkalampatti Village, Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District which is scheduled to be held on 14.05.2026, considering the petitioner's representation dated 01.05.2026, this Writ Petition has been filed.

2. Mr.A.Damodaran, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, submitted that already a peace committee is pending before the RDO, Tiruchengode and the petitioner is 'B' party and private respondents are 'A' party. Unless and until the same is concluded, the peaceful conduct of temple festival may not be feasible.

3. Heard either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

4. In this regard the RDO, Tiruchengode, is suo motu impleaded as seventh respondent in this writ petition. Registry is directed to make necessary amendments in the cause title.

5. The 7th respondent is directed to conclude the peace committee between the petitioner's party and the party of respondents 3 to 6, on or before 11.05.2026 and thereafter, facilitate to peacefully conduct the temple festival on 14.05.2026. It is made clear that none of the parties are entitled for any firsthonour. The respondent police is directed to offer police protection for conducting the temple festival on payment of necessary charges by the petitioner in terms of GO.Ms.No.139, Home (Pol-VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.
