ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 76, 78, 351 (3), 308(2) of BNS and Section 67(a) of I.T.Act r/w Section 3 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998 in Crime No.129 of 2025, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is alleged to have taken obscene photographs of the defacto complainant and threatened her that he will circulate the same in the social media. Hence the complaint.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner and the defacto complainant were in love with each other. When they are in close relationship, the petitioner has taken obscene photographs of the defacto complainant and threatened her that he will circulate the same in the social media. She has also paid Rs.7 lakhs to the petitioner and still he is demanding more money by threatening her. He further submitted that if the petitioner is allowed on anticipatory bail, it will affect the future of the victim girl. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 2 / 4

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by both counsel and the gravity of offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 21.05.2025 gv/jai "Note:
