Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 23.07.2011 and 11.02.2014 within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the first respondent to pass orders on the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 23.07.2011 and 11.02.2014 within a reasonable period.

2. Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner was appointed through the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission as Municipal Commissioner Grade-3 in the year 1972, promoted to Grade-2 in the year 1978 and to Municipal Commissioner Grade-3 in the year 1991. Subsequently he was promoted to the post of Joint Director. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that the scale of pay as applicable to the writ petitioner on par with the juniors has not been granted. 07.02.1995, the pay was not fixed on par with the juniors is the complaint in the representation made by the Writ petitioner on 11.02.2014.

3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the second respondent has already forwarded a proposal to the first respondent to consider the case of the Writ petitioner in proceedings dated 11.12.2000 and the said proceedings is also kept pending for long years and the Government also issued a reply stating that the proposal sent by the second respondent is under consideration.

4. Thus, without going to the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the Writ petitioner on 23.7.2011 and 11.02.2014 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ petitioner is directed to send copies of the representations and all relevant documents along with the orders passed in this Writ petition. With these directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
