Respondent Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2016 seeking patta with respect to the petitioner property situated at 45, Malliyangaranai Village, Uthiramerur Taluk, Kancheepuram District comprised in old Survey No.1153, New Survey No.1153/60 admeasuring to an extent of 024 square metre and another piece of land comprised in same village in old Survey No.1153, New Survey No.1153/57 admeasuring to an extent of 023 square metre,within time frame to be stipulated by this Court. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. The petitioner would state that in respect of the lands in Old S.No.1153, New S.Nos.1153/57 and 1153/60, situated at Malliyangaranai Village, Uthiramerur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, admeasuring to an extent of 0.24 sq.m., and 0.23 sq.m. respectively, a joint patta was also given vide proceedings of the respondent dated 21.05.1999 in Na.Ka.1455/1999. According to the petitioner, it was an conditional patta and on 27.01.2014, one Paramasivam and Chinraj had sold their properties in favour of the petitioner vide registered Sale Deed bearing No.467/2014 registered on the file of the Sub Registrar, Uthiramerur. The petitioner thereafter, applied for patta vide application dated 13.06.2014 and it was also followed by a reminder dated 20.05.2016 and since no response is forthcoming, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application for grant of patta as well as the representation dated 20.05.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after putting on notice the person/s concerned and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner as well as to the persons concerned.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
