ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for a direction to the second respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner and her husband based on the complaint given by the petitioner on 26.10.2020.

The grievance of the petitioner is that she married one Deenadhayalan, which was an intercaste marriage and this was opposed by the father of the petitioner, who is the third respondent in this petition. According to the petitioner, there is a threat to the petitioner and her husband from the third respondent. Hence, a complaint was given to the second respondent on 26.10.2020 seeking for police protection. Since the same was not acted upon, the present petition has been filed seeking for police protection.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of respondent.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of the grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to act upon the complaint given by the petitioner on 26.10.2020 and conduct an enquiry by calling the third respondent and the petitioner. The second respondent is directed to instruct the third respondent not to interfere with the life of the petitioner or cause any threat to the petitioner or her husband. If inspite of the same, any threat is exerted by the third respondent, appropriate action shall be taken in accordance with law and if necessary, police protection shall also be given to the petitioner and her husband.

This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
