O R D E R
The petitioner has filed this petition seeking direction to the respondents to give priority to the petitioners in appointment of extended scheme of Padhna Likhna Abhiyan (Karkkum Bharatham)
2. The case of the petitioner is that the Government of India has been introducing a number of schemes for the purpose of educating the rural persons and in particular the illiterate adults. All the schemes were introduced and implemented by the State Government with the funding of the Central Government. All the petitioners herein were appointed in various schemes initially and since it is a contractual appointment, once the period is over, they would be relieved from the services and thereafter, they could be re-appointed in another scheme in non-formal and adult education. In July 2010, the petitioners were appointed by the fifth respondent in a scheme known as "KARKKUM BHARATHAM". This scheme was extended every year and up to 31.03.2018, on which date, all the petitioners were relieved Page No.3 of 7
from the services. Now, the Government of India introduced a new scheme of adult Education called Padhma Likhna Abhiyan (Karpom Ezhuthuvom). Hence, the petitioners have come forward with the present writ petition, seeking direction to the respondents to give priority to them in the appointment of the new scheme of adult education "Padhma Likhna Abhiyan".

When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners prayed this Court to permit the petitioners to send a representation to the fourth respondent in regard to giving priority in the appointment of new scheme called "Padhma Likhna Abhiyan", within a particular time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has no objection for the said order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed on record.

6. Taking into consideration the factual aspects of the matter and without going into the merits of the case, this Court issues the following directions:
(i) The petitioners herein is directed to give a representation to the fourth respondents, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(ii) On receipt of the said representation, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks thereafter.
7. This writ petition is disposed of with the above observations and directions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
