... Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of MANDAMUS directing the 3rd respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.02.2015 to issue necessary patta in favour of the petitioner. For Petitioner :

Mr.S.Venkateswaran For Respondents :

ORDER

Heard Mr.S.Venkateswaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.L.Mahendran, learned Government Advocate, who took notice on behalf of the respondents and with their consent, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition to direct the 3rd respondent to consider his representation dated 25.02.2015. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. The land for which, the petitioner seeks for grant of patta appears to be the Government land. The petitioner submits that he is in possession of the said land for several years and now seeks for grant of patta.

4. In the absence of any valid title to the property, the relief sought for issuing a writ of mandamus by compelling the revenue authorities to issue patta cannot be granted. Hence, the prayer sought for by the writ petitioner is misconceived. The Writ petition is dismissed. However, this will not prevent the petitioner to pursue his representation before the competent authority. No costs. Sd/- Assistant Registrar //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar rg/gya To
