ORDER
(This case has been heard through video conference) The petitioners are husband and wife. The contention of petitioners is that on the guise of enquiry, they were unnecessarily detained and harassed by the respondent police on 24.08.2021. Their further contention is that one Surya involved in a criminal case in the year 2020, that too, in a case investigated by Madipakkam Police. As regards respondent police, no case registered against the said Surya.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for respondent would submit that the petitioners herein are husband and wife, who pledged jewels, which was handed over by one Surya. Surya was involved in a criminal case and the present case was lodged on the confession of Surya and on his confession, the role played by the petitioners came to light. let them cooperate with the enquiry.
3. Considering his submissions, summoning the petitioners to appear for enquiry would not amount to harassment. Therefore, this court is not inclined to entertain this petition and accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
