1.The Chairman, 2.The Superintending Engineer, 3.The Assistant Engineer, .. Respondents This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both parties are present. The learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.Mohideen Pitchai and Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned counsel for the respondents 1 to 3 are present.

After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows: TERMS OF SETTLEMENT The petitioner grandfather, by name Dharmapillai was prosecuted for the alleged theft of energy and he was penalized and directed to pay a total sum of Rs.8,05,957/- , out of which, it is represented by

both that a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- was paid leaving the balance as detailed here under. After added interest as on this date, the amount payable by the original consumer was a sum of Rs.25,11,400/-.

2. Now the grandson of the original consumer and the department had negotiated the matter and settled amicably the disputes, under which, the department is willing to clear the entire liability, by receiving a sum of Rs.2,19,545/- waiving the balance and agreeing the same the writ petitioner has tendered the Demand Draft dated 16.04.2015 bearing No.464934, drawn on Indian Bank, Madras High Court for Rs.2,20,000/- (rounded of) in our presence and the same received by the Superintending Engineer, by making necessary endorsement in the writ petition itself.

3. It is also further agreed by the Electricity Department, that the petition, dated 24.02.2015 given by the petitioner, which is pending, will be considered for fresh service connection, for three phase and orders will be issued, if the petitioner has complied all the requirements.

4. The Superintending Engineer is requested to consider the application, sympathetically and over coming difficulty if any and directed to give service connection, as requested, as per the rules and regulations.
