ORDER

The petitioners have come forward with the present petition seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.172/2009 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tiruppur, for the offences punishable under Sections 16(1)(a)(i) and 7(ii) and r/w. Section 2(ix) (K) of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954, and Rule 32(b) of the PFA Rules, 1955.

2. During the course of argument, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that though the present petition has been filed for quashing the proceedings in C.C.No.172/2009, he wants early disposal of the case.

3. Heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the rival submissions made on both sides, this Court is of the view that it is a fit case to issue a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tiruppur, to dispose of the case. Accordingly, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Tiruppur, is directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.172 of 2009, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
