Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent herein to dispose of the Revision Petition filed by the petitioner herein bearing Ref. No.7221/2013/N3 within the time fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, who has accepted notice on behalf of the respondents.

2. The petitioner is a partnership firm and they filed this writ petition to direct the first respondent to hear and dispose of the statutory revision filed before the first respondent. The revision petition has been filed as against the grant of joint patta and the revision petition appears to have been entertained by the first respondent in Ref. No.7221/2013/N3. The petitioner would state that no written acknowledgment was given and in fact, the counsel for the petitioner has visited the office of the first respondent on 09.07.2013, 11.11.2013, 21.05.2014 and 11.02.2015 and in spite of the same, till date there is no progress in the revision petition and the petitioner has been informed that the records from the office of the second respondent, namely Revenue Divisional Officer, Tambaram has been called for and after the records are received, action will be taken.

3. Since the revision petition is a statutory revision and the petitioner has also filed an application for interim stay, the revisional authority should entertain the revision petition, fix a date of hearing, issue notice to the petitioner as well as the respondent in the revision petition and hear the parties in person and pass a reasoned order on merits and in accordance with law taking into consideration the fact that the revision petition has already been presented and taken on file. The revisional authority shall dispose of the revision within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
