The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner dated 04.04.2014 based on the G.O.2(D) No.54 Home (Police III) Department, dated 23.02.2000. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submits that the writ petitioner was initially appointed as Grade II Police Constable in the year 1969 and thereafter promoted as Grade I Police Constable in the year 1972 and as Head Constable in the year 1978. The writ petitioner was further promoted to the post of Sub Inspector of Police in the year 1986 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and retired from service on 30.11.2007. However, the writ petitioner made a claim that his seniority was erroneously fixed by the department contrary to the rules in force. In this regard he made a representation to the first respondent on 4.4.2014. The representation was given based on the earlier orders of this Court passed in favour of one Mr.Arogyam.

3.This being the facts of the case and without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 04.04.2014 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petitioner is directed to enclose a copy of the representation along with the order of this writ petition to the second respondent.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, no order as to costs.
