This case is taken up for settlement before the National Lok Adalat. Mr.D.Bhaskaran, learned counsel for the Appellant and Mr.K.V.Muthu Visakan, learned counsel for the Respondents 1 to 3 are present before this Court.

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT This Civil Miscellaneous Appeal had been filed by the Appellant/Insurance Company aggrieved by the award of the Tribunal

granting a sum of Rs.14,09,600/- (Rupees Fourteen Lakhs Nine Thousand and Six Hundred Only). The Appellant/Insurance Company had already deposited 50% of the award amount. The Appellant/Insurance Company entered into an agreement with the first Respondent/Claimant whereby, the Appellant/Insurance Company is agreed to pay a sum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only), in full quit, in addition to the amount awarded by the Tribunal.

2. It was agreed that the first Respondent/Claimant is entitled to receive the sum of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs only), in full quit, in addition to the amount awarded by the Tribunal.

3. The Appellant/Insurance Company is directed to deposit the agreed amount within a period of 8 weeks from today.

4. On such deposit, the first Respondent/Claimant is entitled to withdraw the entire amount. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition, if any, is closed.

This Lok Adalat award is passed in terms of the above settlement.
