ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been laid by the petitioner seeking direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge & Special Judge for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases, Erode, to accept the surrender of the petitioner herein in Crime No.946 of 2020, on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge & Special Judge for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases, Erode and consider the bail petition on the same day itself.

2. According to the petitioner, he was arrayed as accused in crime No.946 of 2020, for the alleged offences under Sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s), and 3(2)(va) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 2015 and under Section 506(i) of IPC. According to the petitioner, he has not committed the offences put forth against him and on account of the false case alleged against him, the petitioner is necessitated to seek for necessary directions.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice, I deem it fit to issue the following directions.

(i) The petitioner shall surrender before the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge & Special Judge for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases, Erode, within 10 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

(ii) On the petitioner surrendering before the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge & Special Judge for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases, Erode, and filing the bail application, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge & Special Judge for Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases, Erode, is directed to consider and dispose of the bail application as expeditiously as possible, preferably on the date of surrender in accordance with law.

4. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
