ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the notices dated 03.06.2019 and 24.06.2019, thereby raised demand at Rs.1,48,33,180/- and Rs.1,09,27,675/- as arrears of rent.

2. There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Heard the learned

Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent would submit that the petitioner had now vacated the shops which were allotted in his favour without paying arrears of rent.

4. A perusal of records revealed that the petitioner was in arrears of rent and as such, he was rightly issued notices demanding rental arrears as per the revised rent. That apart, this Court finds no grounds to set aside the payment raised by the respondent.

5. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the orders passed by the respondent and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. The respondent is at liberty to take appropriate action as against the petitioner for collection of arrears of rent, in the manner known to law.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
